I am a late bloomer! Not really sure why except that I lacked the confidence until I was in my 50's and 60's to try new things. When I did try, I found that I was pretty good at some things that I enjoyed quite a lot!
Mosaics
I became interested in mosaics when I was admiring some work that a very talented friend of mine had done. I asked her if she would make a tabletop design out of some broken pieces of flower pot that I had purchased over thirty years before on my honeymoon.
Instead of doing it for me, she guided me through the process of making it myself. I had so much fun and loved the end result so much that I have been breaking and putting glass back together since that time.
I love the outdoors! My mosaics are portraits of nature. They are weatherproof and can stand up to harsh Texas weather, or they are made of stained glass to sit (or hang) in your window so that the sunlight can shine through them.

Music
A few years ago I received a ukulele for Christmas. There hasn’t been a single day since that time that I have not picked it up! I fell in love with playing and singing.
Whenever I play for people, laughter and smiles abound. I like to sing songs that I love from the 40's to the 60's, all the way to songs that are popular now. Even though my instrument was made in Hawaii, I don't sing a single Hawaiian song…yet! But I will take requests!
